One of the most searched for trends on Google at the moment is /b/, but what does this odd set of characters mean.
It seems a large number of people are trying to find the 4chan message board.
Resolutely not safe for work /b/ was 4chan’s first board.
It is responsible for bringing the majority of traffic to 4chan with over 700,000 unique visitors a day.
New content appears every few seconds and there is little moderation, which makes the message board a very open forum for discussion.
Board users refer to themselves a “/b/tards” and operate an established etiquette that new users can find hard to grasp.
The 4chan subculture occasionally hits the mainstream, when the group organises itself to protest against a variety of different causes.
Fox News have gone so far as to describe them as terrorists.
But they have probably missed the point.
