The beautiful world of nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is the future of not just science but also business – that'll be the message of an international conference to be held in Auckland next week.
But it just might also be the future of art.
You see, small is beautiful. Take for instance the Gus Fisher Gallery in Auckland’s latest installation, entitled ‘The Art Of The Invisible’.
The images on show, captured by New Zealand scientists, explore a world measured in nanometres. How small is that? Well, your fingernails grow one nanometre every second.
And in this tiny kingdom it's hard to see where science stops and art begins.
