Five injured in North Shore crash
One person is fighting for their life after a crash, which closed part of a major arterial road on Auckland's North Shore.
The crash happened when a single vehicle carrying four people left the road on Lake Rd in Narrowneck, near Devonport, about 4:30am today.
An ambulance spokeswoman said three people were taken to Auckland Hospital.
She said one had life-threatening injuries, while the other two had critical injuries that were less serious.
A fourth person was taken to North Shore Hospital with moderate injuries.
Power poles and lines were also damaged in the crash, which forced the closure of Lake Rd and diverted motorists travelling in and out of Devonport to Vauxhall Rd and Old Lake Rd.
The road had re-opened by late this morning.
