Collins wants apology from Labour MPs
Judith Collins arrives for a settlement conference regarding her defamation case against Labour MPs Trevor Mallard and Andrew Little at the High Court in Auckland (AAP)
ACC Minister Judith Collins has requested an apology from two Labour ministers ahead of a defamation case today.
Labour Party MPs Trevor Mallard and Andrew Little will attend a settlement hearing in the Auckland High Court after Collins launched a legal challenge in May.
The ACC Minister contends the two MPs defamed her when they linked her to the leaking of emails sent by former National Party President Michelle Boag over a privacy breach at the department Collins administers.
The hearing will be closed to the public and is an attempt to prevent further court action – a trial would include a jury and be a considerable public expense.
"I've always made it very plain that I've been defamed so that needs to be acknowledged," she told Fairfax Media.
