Lock Courtney Lawes has been confirmed in England's 23-man match-day squad for the rugby Test against the All Blacks on Saturday (Sunday NZT).

The dynamic Northampton forward, who made his comeback from a knee injury in an English Premiership club match last weekend, has replaced Mouritz Botha as England coach Stuart Lancaster culled 11 players from his wider training group on Tuesday.

The only other change to England's squad from last weekend's 16-15 loss to South Africa is the inclusion of uncapped Gloucester first five-eighth Freddie Burns in place of the injured Toby Flood.

Lancaster is expected to make only one change when he names his starting team on Thursday, with Owen Farrell set to replace Flood.

The coach had a stirring message for his side when releasing his squad.

"The message is clear. Last week we went toe to toe with the second best team in the world and felt we should have won," he said.

"Now we have a chance to take on the number one side in front of a passionate Twickenham crowd, who have been fantastic throughout the QBE Internationals, and it is a challenge we will meet head on."

England squad:

Backs: Chris Ashton, Brad Barritt, Mike Brown, Freddie Burns, Danny Care, Owen Farrell, Alex Goode, Jonathan Joseph, Manusamoa Tuilagi, Ben Youngs

Forwards: Alex Corbisiero, Dan Cole, James Haskell, Joe Launchbury, Courtney Lawes, Ben Morgan, David Paice, Geoff Parling, Chris Robshaw, Mako Vunipola, David Wilson, Tom Wood, Tom Youngs.
