LIVE COMMENTARY… FULLTIME Manchester United 3 v Tottenham 0
90 mins: Couple of added time.
86 mins: GOAL as Rooney makes it three with a deft header. All class as a Giggs delivered is done justice from the head of Wayne Rooney. Video up.
83 mins: Ohhh Rooney puts it over the top. Video up. Giggs, Hernandez and Park now on for United.
78 mins: Defoe rattles the woodwork for Spurs. Video up.
76 mins: Outstanding GOAL for Manchester United! That went from foot to foot to foot to net. Anderson the end man slotting a magnificent United move. Video up.
74 mins: Double change for Spurs. Pavlyuchenko on for Kranjcar and Livermore making way for Huddlestone.
68 mins: Rooney has a crack from a free kick. It's raining shots on Friedel... Wellbeck has an overhead, Nani tries to sneak one near post... she's mayhem. Spurs need to try and put a foot on the ball and slow things down. Video up of Rooney's strike.
61 mins: GOAL Man U! Danny Welbeck. He had a free header and he put it into the corner with ease. Video up.
58 mins: Giggs one of a few warming up on the sideline for Man U - Young volleys and that's unlucky. Nearly got the foot over the ball then and on target Friedel wouldn't have stood a chance. Video up.
52 mins: Who is the team in white as it's a different one to the first spell? The ball starting to fall their way a touch more now and they are keeping possession well... moving it forward like chess pieces. Rooney breaks away... two shots on goal from man U... Friedel has both. Video up. Want an open game - you just got one. End to end now, Spurs absorbing the pressure then trying the break on and they sure have some gas.
50 mins: Lennon blew that for Spurs. Did really well to go shoulder to shoulder with Evra but he had to cut that ball back. He just didn't know what to do and in the end chose wrong. Poor decision making. Video up.
48 mins: Ohhh United all over Spurs with a smidgen of luck and then it falls to Young but Friedel is once again his equal. Video up.
46 mins: Van der Vaart with an early one after the oranges - his boots might have not been warmed up though as that shot is cold pie.
Second spell due to get underway very soon as Spurs come back out after the break first. Corluka on for Walker for the visitors.
Halftime Man 0 v Spurs 0 - see you after the break
45+1 mins: Defoe has acres of space and is chewing it up as he runs at the lone Man U defender... but he kicks they ground as he hoots and it's a little embarrassing for him.
45 mins: Two additional minutes to be served up.Nani slides in and catches Kaboul. Both react, both have left handbags at home so nothing thrown. Moving on.
43 mins: Bale away after making a run from midfield, feeds Van der Vaart on the cut back to the edge of the area and he turns and goes at it - De Gea solid again and so he should have been. Video up. Young still feeling the affects of the Dawson challenge.
41 mins: Rooney brought down and the ref calls play on so Nani has a go and wishes he hadn't. Video up.
39 mins: Dawson booked for the challenge on Young. Nothing too much in it but the collision is worth the card. Young getting some work on Young's right calf. He's been a lively presence to date and he's alive and well and now on his feet again to though limping a tad gingerly to the side.
35 mins: Spurs doing a grand job of hanging in. They'll know the longer they can hang then the greater the chance of pulling off the upset.
32 mins: Great work from Kranjcar as he pulls the ball down from the heavens and unleashes a left foot towards De Gear - the Man U keeper handles easily. Video up.
30 mins: Rooney looking sharp as the creator (no, I don't mean God though some would argue with me on that one), but he is stretching defences and delivering plenty to team mates.
27 mins: Spurs will be trying the find their A Game through their A team... and that means giving Bale more ball. He's given as good as he's got with what he's had and some more pill might see the visitors in this one or at least sneaking a first. Ohhhhh Young nearly gets a header on target from a great chip from Wayne Rooney. So close. Video up.
25 mins: Rooney looks to shoot, cuts back, feeds Welbeck and he losses it on the edge. You get the feeling it's just a matter of time before a trigger is pulled and the target is hit.
21 mins: De Gea forces to save as Gareth Bale's angled runs allows a off-balance shot. Nani delivers another ball end at the other end. Video up of both pieces of action.
20 mins: Rooney finds Nani and searches for Welbeck in the centre but that final ball is missing. Lennon showing immense gas for Spurs as they break... put a cape on that man cause he was flying.
19 mins: De Gea in man United's goal has been redundant so far aside from dealing with passbacks. Friedel at the other end can't say the say, on toes for the first 19 minutes.
16 mins: Gareth Bale beats a few and Jones dives in on the edge of the box. Wow, great effort from Bale and Jones didn't touch the ball - should have been a foul. Bale up and running again despite rolling around in agony. Spurs coming into this slowly... and then Man U breaks. Ashley Young having a go from an acute angle when a ball in would have been better.
14 mins: First corner of the night for Tottenham Hotspur. Will they be dropping it on De Gea to put some pressure on? It's poor.
12 mins: Patrice Evra has an air shot and should have got something on that from the edge of the area.
11 mins: A little ball for Spurs but they forced the pass and Phil Jones nips it and fires Ashley Young away. Spurs scrambling to keep pace but desperation wins this one - this time.
8 mins: Cleverley tries to side foot it around Friedel in the Spurs goal and what a save with the left pad! Not bad for 40 years old. Video up.
6 mins: Evans with a sliding foot in to kill a great Spurs through ball - had it beaten him then Defoe may have been right on De Gea with time.
4 mins: More good play from Manchester United as Anderson attacks down the left flank, dummies the cross, feeds Evra towards the byline but the cross is poor. Plenty of room for United plays to start the match that's for sure.
2 mins: ALL Man U early on as Rooney charges at the back four, lays it off to Nani and gets the return - his headers was straight at Friedel in goal. Video up.
1 min: Bright start by the home side as they attack early and try and feed Welbeck up front. Foot in kills the danger with a good challenge - timely.
Here we go people... Manchester United's first home game of the season and we all know how well they play at Old Trafford. Hernandez is on the bench we hear. There's a buzz around the ground and conditions are perfect for football.
We're about to take our live pictures... boy, amped for this one I tell you!

Manchester United has become the first English club to sign a sponsor for its training uniforms, securing a deal with express delivery and freight firm DHL worth around $66 million.
The four-year deal with the subsidiary of Germany's Deutsche Post AG eclipses many of the main shirt sponsorship deals at rival clubs.
United's match-day uniforms are still sponsored by Chicago-based insurance broker Aon Corp. in a four-year deal worth around $130 million.
Monday's sponsorship announcement came a week after it emerged that United's American owner, the Glazer family, has submitted an application for a partial flotation on the Singapore stock exchange to help cut the club's debts of more than $825 million.
The Glazers also own the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
