Campbell Live 2012: John Campbell's wrap

Friday 21 Dec 2012 12:15 p.m.

It's time for Campbell Live to say goodbye for the year and we wrap the final show with John Campbell's look back on 2012.

It was a year which included the first, and for many months the only, television interview with Kim Dotcom, along with investigations into who knew hat about the FBI-led operation against him.

It was also a year of education stories; class sizes, closures and mergers in Christchurch - and of course, Novopay.

JC interviewed the now-former Secretary of Education, Lesley Longstone, three times. She fronted for Campbell Live and it now seems the Minister of Education Hekia Parata is what drove her back to England.

Sadly, many members of the Government refused to be interviewed.

Stephen Joyce and Gerry Brownlee aside, the most common response we received to our interview requests with the Prime Minister and his Cabinet was  "no".That's sad.

It would be nice if the people who run our country were available for more testing occasions than being asked to dance Gangnam Style.

But none of that makes JC's year in review.

For John, there was one series of stories that stood out more than many others this year.

Merry Christmas from Campbell Live, we'll see you in 2013.
